The Fox Chapel Area School District board approved three operations and cooperative-service items at its Nov. 10 meeting.

The board approved a placement agreement with Western Governors University to accept a student-teaching placement. The superintendent explained the university reached out and the placement opportunity arose when a Fox Chapel graduate enrolled at the university requested a student-teaching placement.

The board also accepted donations: a Yamaha P2 upright piano with an estimated fair market value of $2,500 from an anonymous donor for the district music department, and a Sherlund Roth cello (serial number 23884, model F570) from Chris Falcon for the Dorseyville Middle School Orchestra. A motion to approve the placement agreement and accept the donations was carried by roll call.

Administrators said donor appreciation is customary and that the placements support recruitment and student opportunities.
