Crystal Mautos, the county's HR director, gave a short human resources update during the meeting. "We have the...out on our website now," she said of employee forms and the policy manual, adding that documents available online include direct-deposit slips, W-4s and K-4s and that some changes (such as direct-deposit changes) still require in-person submission for safety.
Mautos said the county is still collecting required receipts from some departments but that most have been returned. "Our recruitment's going well," she reported, and she described attending a KPERS employer conference in Topeka where she gathered information about retirement reporting, life insurance, and related topics she expects will be useful for county staff.
Mautos also listed community outreach events connected to county staff efforts: a Halloween fundraiser, an upcoming chili contest to benefit United Way, and a turkey potluck organized with emergency management for Nov. 25. She said the county is preparing agendas for an upcoming task-force meeting and solicited feedback on any missing online forms.
