The Beatrice Board of Education unanimously approved the consent agenda at its Nov. 10 meeting. The consent agenda included the minutes of the Oct. 13 regular meeting, proposed accounts for payment, budget receipts and expenditures for October 2025, committee-of-the-whole and retreat minutes from Oct. 27, approval of option students, the third reading of policy 54-13 (student interviews), acceptance of a staff resignation, and an excused absence for Aaron Hamilton.
The board heard a treasurer's report for October that listed payroll of $1,892,290.94, bills of $2,439,823.20, and a grand total of all funds for bills at $4,332,114.14, with revenue for the month reported as $4,330,432.12. The treasurer characterized the district as being "on track" financially for the period reported.
In the information portion of the meeting, the board recognized Tara Weis, secretary at Abbotsville School, as the November employee of the month for her front-office work, assistance with online registrations during a colleague's absence, and day-to-day support for students and families. A student speaker, Brooke, provided updates about school events: a PTO-sponsored family trick-or-treat trail with about 20 participating businesses/groups and more than 600 attendees, a preschool literacy program for 4-year-olds, middle- and high-school activity updates, and upcoming Veterans Day assemblies.
The board also received routine committee reports and scheduling information. The next regular board meeting is set for Dec. 8, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the Administration Building.
Next steps: routine follow-up and inclusion of consent items in the official minutes.
