The Glendale Commission on the Status of Women voted to change its regular meetings to a monthly cadence, beginning on the second Monday of each month and starting at 4:30 p.m.
Staff presented a resolution proposing the change to align the commission's schedule with recent action by the City Council to enlarge the commission's duties and return to a monthly meeting schedule. "As such, you have a resolution before you tonight that sets that monthly meeting cadence to the second Monday with a start time of 04:30PM," the staff liaison told commissioners.
Commissioner 5 moved to adopt the resolution to hold monthly meetings beginning at 4:30 p.m.; Commissioner 6 seconded. A roll-call vote recorded "Yes" from Commissioner Hojoeyan, Commissioner Lambalotte, Vice Chair Arum and Chair Jomela Markarian and the resolution passed 4–0 with Commissioner Samara Jean absent.
Earlier the commission approved consent items, including the minutes of August 20, after a motion and second; the same roll call produced a 4–0 vote to approve those minutes.
Commissioners also discussed administrative follow-ups: staff provided a tentative 2026 meeting schedule as an attachment for review, noted the city council had unanimously passed the ordinance that expanded the commission’s duties on September 30, and asked commissioners to flag any scheduling conflicts for the coming year.
The meeting concluded with the commission adjourning at 5:02 p.m. The next regular meeting was confirmed for December 8 at 4:30 p.m.
