Lee County’s Zoning & Planning Committee voted without discussion to forward the Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) appropriation resolution to the Executive Committee for inclusion on the November County Board agenda.
Transportation and Solid Waste Director Dave Anderson told the committee that contract work for current projects has been completed and staff are finishing closeout paperwork for 2025 while assembling 2026 project lists. He said the annual MFT maintenance resolution covers routine items such as shoulder stone, patch mix, striping paint and road signs and includes a transfer of about $420,000 for MFT‑eligible work to County Highway.
Anderson noted the board must approve the resolution and that IDOT must approve the formal estimate paperwork; he described the line‑items at a high level and said he had not supplied the full estimate breakdown to the committee packet.
Dean Friel moved the motion to send the MFT appropriation resolution to the Executive Committee; Chris Norberg seconded. There was no discussion and the motion passed by voice vote. Chair Jack Skragstead announced “Motion carried.”
Next steps: The resolution will be considered by the Executive Committee and, if advanced, placed on the November County Board agenda for final approval and for submission to IDOT as required.
