Two project closeout change orders were presented to the council for information. Paul described change order #2 for the SR 530 utility crossing project (fiber to the Public Works facility) as a final change order that adds sales tax omitted from the first change order; staff requested authorization next week to add $1,097.27 that was not budgeted.

Jim Kelly presented the final change order closing the 211th Place improvement project and listed four modifications: signal revisions requested by Snohomish County (the county coordinates street lights), one additional pedestrian light on the roadway, structural reinforcement to the pond berm and installation of two trash racks on the stormwater culverts to prevent debris and animals from entering the culverts. Council asked whether the trash racks were intended for resident trash cans; Jim clarified their purpose is to keep debris and raccoons out of the culverts.

Both items were informational at the meeting and were left on the consent agenda for the next meeting; no final approvals were recorded in this session.
