Stacy, speaking for the department, told the Public Safety Committee Lee County will begin staff training on a new Tyler Technologies data-management system the week of Nov. 17 and plans to go live on Dec. 1.
"We will start training next week, the week of November 17, and anticipate going live with that system on December 1," Stacy said. She said Lee County is among the early local adopters and that a Tyler team will be onsite the week of deployment to work directly with staff.
Stacy said the county is not performing a data conversion from the old system: staff will begin fresh entries in the new platform on Dec. 1 while keeping access to the existing system for historical case and pretrial information. To preserve access, Stacy said she extended the contract with the old system for one year.
Committee members asked whether nearby counties are using the system and whether the county would retain access in perpetuity; Stacy said she has been in contact with about seven other counties and confirmed access to the old system has been extended. The committee discussed troubleshooting through a Tyler work group and daily implementation logistics; no formal action was recorded.
