A mini-committee for the Village of Golf Manor told the Community Engagement Committee on Nov. 10 it issued a request for proposals for a new village website, reviewed incoming bids and "chose a vendor called Code Blue," selecting the silver tier to enable expanded communications features.
"We chose a vendor called Code Blue," the mini-committee member reported (S4). The committee also discussed communications features available in the silver tier and agreed postcards should accompany the website launch to reach residents who do not use online channels.
S4 said the village plans to fund the website with ARPA money: "We plan on, using ARPA funding in order to fund our new website." The committee expects the vendor to provide a formal contract; staff reported they had requested the contract and would schedule a kickoff meeting once it is returned.
Clerk/staff S2 moved to authorize $1,500 from community engagement appropriations for postcards to promote the website and village programming; members agreed by voice. Finance processing will be required to finalize the appropriation.
Committee members emphasized community engagement during the site design and said they intend to solicit input from residents and promote upcoming recreational and educational classes via the site and the postcards.
Next steps: staff to follow up with Code Blue on a formal contract and to coordinate timing for the postcard order to coincide with the website launch.
