Mayor Maureen Miller Rosnan invited Livonia residents to a self-guided open house for the new Livonia Senior Wellness Center on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., ahead of the facility's planned official opening on Nov. 17.
"This is going to be your first chance to see what's happening at our new Livonia Senior Wellness Center," Mayor Maureen Miller Rosnan said during the city's "Hello, Livonia" segment.
Rosnan said attendees may tour the state-of-the-art facility, which includes flexible rooms with movable walls, a spacious kitchen and dining area, adaptable fitness spaces and a cafe and lounge. She identified the cafe and lounge as managed by Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop and Cafe and said light refreshments, giveaways and other items will be available during the open house.
The mayor noted the center sits adjacent to the Jack E. Kirksey Recreation Center and is marked by a large covered canopy. She said special parking for the Senior Wellness Center is located off 5 Mile Road. No registration is required to attend the Nov. 15 open house, Rosnan said.
The announcement was delivered as part of the "Hello, Livonia" segment and was limited to scheduling and facility details; no formal council action, vote or funding announcement was made during the remarks.
City officials have scheduled the center to officially open on Nov. 17; Rosnan described the Nov. 15 event as a preview before that opening.
