The commission opened bids Nov. 6 for exterior renovations at Riley County Fire District Station 116, including base bids for siding and options for spray‑foam or batt insulation. Several contractors submitted bids with different alternates and lead times.

After brief review of the bid spreadsheets, a commissioner moved and the commission voted to refer the bids to staff for evaluation and recommendation. Staff will return with a recommendation and contract award proposal following standard bid evaluation and review of alternates.
