Under Item 15 the council accepted multiple lowest responses and emergency purchases for city departments.
Notable approvals included: a contract with Nidsum Promotional Manufacturing Corporation to supply pressure‑sensitive bridal tags and inserts for the inspection and code enforcement department (not to exceed $25,000 annually); Restek to provide IT supplies for the new fire station (not to exceed $5,465.70); Ace Garage Door Company LLC to remove and install a new overhead door and operator at Fire Station 37 (not to exceed $24,543); authorization to use Louisiana state contract 4400033422 with Vehicle Parts & Equipment Incorporated for light bars and sirens (not to exceed $100,000 annually); a lobbying agreement with Reserve Component for federal lobbying and advocacy services (not to exceed $60,000); and a cooperative endeavor agreement with the Louisiana Department of the Treasury for park lighting and equipment.
Chief Jason Dyer and other staff answered council questions about compatibility of IT equipment and the size/placement of the new garage door at Fire Station 37, including wind rating and ease of apparatus movement. "The new doors ... [have a] higher wind rating as well as, newer, enable easier to maintain," Chief Dyer said of the replacement door. Council members emphasized coordination with the city's IT department to ensure compatibility.
All votes on the Item 15 purchases were unanimous (6–0). Several of the purchases were described as emergency purchases or use of state contracts to expedite procurement.
