Dr. Abeyta opened the presentations by calling up coaches and guests to honor Chelsea High boys soccer as Greater Boston League champions. Dr. Jennings said the players showed "heart" and resilience during the season: "That right there was the biggest thing I could ever see honoring who they are," he said. Adam Delaney praised the team’s passion and sportsmanship and anticipated community support for future seasons.
School committee representative Daniel read player names aloud so each student could receive a certificate; the roster included Brian Andrade, Brooke Ephraim, Hans Estrada, Josefa Gonzalez, Chris Gonzalez, Alexander Gonzales, Eric Herrera, Emmanuel Ho, Jose Ho, Christian Lopez, Dario Medina, Emerson Merino, Jorge Molina, Ryan Orellana, Steven Oseguera, Joel Nosar, Jorge Perez, Michael Omar, Gustavo Ramirez, Jorge Sanabarria Vasquez, Darwin Pass, Moises Ujoa, Angel Umansor and Daniel Prudencio. The committee took a group photograph with coaches.
Myra Balderas presented an educator recognition for Jose Bejarra Galvez, who was not present; committee members said they would ensure the award is delivered to him.
The meeting also included a multi-site "Strength and Story" recognition for buildings-and-grounds and custodial teams at the ELC, Mary C. Burke Complex, Williams Complex, Clark Avenue and Chelsea High School. Committee members read nomination excerpts praising responsiveness, safety contributions, and personal connections with students. Individual custodial staff and supervisors were named during the presentation (for example, Manny Ventura and Mario Rivera at the ELC; Jorge Sanabria, Armando Perez and others at Mary C. Burke; Jose Sanchez and Brian Colon at Williams; Jose Enriquez and Esteban Hernandez at Clark Avenue; and multiple staff named at Chelsea High School).
