Facilities staff told the committee that the facilities master plan has been finalized and that hard copies will be distributed next week. The staff asked the committee to come prepared for a "robust discussion" at the next facilities meeting on the plans recommendations, demographics, condition assessments and budget estimates.
A committee member asked whether a community assessment for a proposed Eastside pre-K to 8 school would be included; staff confirmed that it would be part of the next meeting's discussion and said they would provide site plans, budget snapshots and process analysis. "We want you guys to really go through it now that you have the finalized copy," staff said.
Committee members signaled interest in reviewing recommendations and asked that staff and the planning team be on hand to answer questions about project phasing, swing space and how the master plan aligns with the districts capital priorities. Facilities staff said the plan contains the data necessary to start making decisions and that staff have begun drafting recommendations and budget scenarios in parallel with the plan's finalization.
