The House Executive Departments and Administration Committee voted 16-0 on Nov. 5, 2025, to refer Senate Bill 193 to interim study. Chair Erica Layon said the study would allow the committee to examine whether existing agency planning processes meet legislative expectations for cost-effective delivery of services.

Layon said many departments already undertake strategic planning but that the committee could use the interim to examine gaps and recommend improvements. Representative Schmidt seconded the referral. After the roll call, the committee placed SB 193 on the consent calendar and closed the executive session on the bill.

Chair Layon said the committee’s retained bills will head to the House floor in January and reminded members about scheduling for veto day and session start dates.
