Council Member Gadd urged residents to attend a screening and panel discussion titled "Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness" at Otter Creek Church on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. Council Member Ewing announced that the Bellevue Community Food Bank in West Nashville distributes food Tuesday nights 6–7:30 p.m., with office hours for donations and inquiries on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; she referred interested residents to St. George's Episcopal Church's website for more information.
Council Member Eslick invited constituents to a "Meet the Council Person" session Thursday, Nov. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Old Hickory Social Marketplace. Council Member Vau thanked neighborhood groups for Halloween events and announced a virtual community meeting on Monday, Nov. 10 for Edgehill residents about a proposed rezoning at 1007 15th Avenue South, and a meeting on Thursday, Nov. 13 in Napier about tree plantings and volunteer "tree captain" roles. Council Member Lee announced another virtual community meeting Thursday at 6 p.m. focused on constituent questions for Metro divisions about taxes, traffic calming and patrols.
Council Member Huffman and Council Member Evans will co-host a public discussion about a corridor design overlay Tuesday, Nov. 11, 6–7:30 p.m., at the Hermitage Police Precinct. Council Member Toombs announced the District 2 monthly meeting Monday, Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the North Precinct community room (Zoom option) and previewed an annual turkey and food drive.
Council Member Supolvita (transcript also shows "Sopova") said two little libraries at bus stops need repairs and solicited donations. The presiding officer read a schedule of food-distribution events: Tusculum Elementary (Tuesdays, 8–11 a.m. and 1–3 p.m.), Mount View Elementary (Nov. 11, 9–10:30 a.m.), Hickman Elementary (Nov. 18, 12–2 p.m.), Antioch High School (Nov. 20, 9–11 a.m.), Alex Green Elementary (Nov. 20, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.), and Maplewood High School (Nov. 21, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.). Metro Social Services compiled additional listings online (nashville.gov/food) and on social media.
The presiding officer also reported that WeGo has extended Journey Pass sign-up hours and new registration locations and that Journey Pass registration events for SNAP recipients begin as early as the next day; details were posted to WeGo and Metro Social Services social media.
