The Templeton Advisory Committee reviewed a series of Community Preservation Act (CPA) warrant articles authorizing historic preservation, open‑space, and administrative changes.
Article 1 would remove a bylaw requirement to print the annual audit in the annual town report and rely on posting the audit to the town website. Article 2 proposes reducing the size of the Open Space Committee to five members to make filling volunteer slots and compliance with open‑meeting rules easier. Articles 3–5 are historic‑preservation funding requests: exterior work for the Memorial Congregational Church, a first‑floor kitchen rehabilitation at Grange Hall, and electrical/wiring and floor work at the Boynton Library. Article 6 requests approximately $5,900 to expand a community garden at the senior center.
Committee members generally supported preservation requests but asked for more detailed scopes, contractor estimates and maintenance plans — particularly for the community garden expansion, which drew concern about irrigation, long‑term upkeep and accurate cost estimates. The Community Preservation Committee had previously vetted and recommended the projects for warrant placement; the advisory committee recorded its advisory recommendations at the end of the session for the town meeting.
