The Southborough Select Board on Nov. 4 approved Venture Auto Services’ application for a Class 2 used‑car dealer license at 145 Boston Road, authorizing up to five display vehicles and setting the license expiration at Jan. 1, 2027 to align with town renewal cycles.

Applicant Rich Kirk Paul introduced himself and said the business would operate at the former Southborough AutoTech site and hold limited inventory to serve customers who ask if vehicles are available. Paul told the board the five vehicles would be purchased from auctions and that he had already begun removing abandoned or nonoperating vehicles from the property.

Board members asked about site circulation and customer parking; Paul said he had removed several nonrunning vehicles in the week before the hearing and planned to continue cleanup to preserve customer parking. Town staff noted that because the applicant filed after the town’s renewal packets were distributed the license would be issued through Jan. 1, 2027 so the applicant would not be required to reapply immediately for the 2026 renewal cycle.

The Select Board closed the public hearing and approved the license by roll call vote: Dennington, aye; Landry, aye; Ling, aye; Hamilton, aye; Cook, aye.

The approval is conditioned on the license term and the limit of five display vehicles. All other applicable town requirements remain in effect, including any required inspections or filings at renewal.
