The executive director updated the board on website changes, accessibility work and a proposed capital request for a site redesign, and the board discussed sponsorship and naming‑rights policy timing.
The executive director said the fairgrounds web domain has been migrated to a .gov address to comply with Metro guidance for transactional government sites: "We switched our the fairgrounds.com needed to transfer to a .gov based on what activities and transactions are happening on our website. So our new website address is thefairgroundsnashville.gov." He added that the fair's event website (nashfair.fun) is exempt from the .gov requirement because of its retail and transactional nature.
He also reported that website accessibility work (screen‑reader text descriptions and form accessibility) has been completed ahead of the April 2026 deadline and that ITS provided an initial estimate for a site update of $80,000–$130,000; the director said that amount was included in the capital request for consideration.
Board members asked about procurement and deliverables for a redesign and urged careful scoping so capital dollars secure front‑end marketing improvements as well as back‑end security and accessibility. One board member said the board should press ITS to share sample designs and clarify which elements ITS would cover as a Metro‑wide platform versus what the fairgrounds would need to fund directly.
On sponsorship and naming rights, the board was advised that Metro Legal has outstanding language changes; the discussion was deferred pending a Metro Legal draft and the chair said he hopes language will be available by year‑end or early next year. No action was taken.
