Spokane City Council continued the public hearing on the Cedar Street vacation to Dec. 1 to allow the applicant additional time to respond to questions and hold further community outreach.

Council member Zappone explained the applicant requested more time to prepare formal responses to issues raised at the initial hearing and wanted another community conversation; staff confirmed there was no known statutory deadline forcing immediate action. Council member McClitzky seconded the motion to continue the hearing. The motion carried; council directed staff to be available for questions from council and the applicant and to return the hearing on the Dec. 1 agenda.

No substantive land-use decision was made at the agenda‑setting meeting; the public hearing remains open and will resume on Dec. 1.
