The Lakeville City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda and, following a public hearing, voted to impose a $0 special service charge for Special Service District No. 1 for taxes payable in 2026.
At the start of the Nov. 3 meeting, City staff highlighted several consent‑agenda items. Staff said the McCoy family donated over $3,200 to the fire department; the funds will be designated for fitness equipment. The council also approved an amended and restated joint‑powers agreement with ISD 194 (Lakeville Public Schools) updating facility and parks use policies, and adopted a resolution of support for Dakota County’s 2026–2030 Capital Improvement Program.
After the consent agenda passed by voice vote, the council opened a public hearing required under state statute for Special Service District No. 1. The finance director said the special‑service advisory board recommended a $0 special service charge for taxes payable in 2026 and provided the board’s budget exhibit for 2026–2027. No members of the public spoke during the hearing.
Council then moved to approve the resolution imposing the special service charge for Special Service District No. 1 for taxes payable in 2026. The motion was made on the floor and seconded; a subsequent roll call recorded affirmative votes across the council and the measure passed. The finance director had cited Minnesota statute related to annual public‑hearing requirements for special service districts.
Announcements: the council noted its next meeting is Monday, Nov. 17, and the next work session is Nov. 24. The meeting adjourned.
