District administrators presented a draft policy that would prohibit private-pay therapy providers from using school facilities to deliver services during regular school hours except under an approved memorandum of understanding. Staff said the policy is intended to protect student confidentiality, avoid scheduling conflicts with required instruction, and prevent duplicate billing issues when Medicaid or other public payers are involved.

Lisa Waldroup and other staff described cases in which parents asked private clinicians to operate on campus, and explained the district's concerns: ensuring confidential spaces, avoiding interference with required educational services, and avoiding billing conflicts with Medicaid. Administrators said one option is to allow community agencies or nonprofits to operate under MOUs when services address needs the district cannot provide, but recommended that individual private-pay providers not operate on campus during instructional time.

Board members asked for additional legal review and language refinement. Administration said it will return with attorney feedback and a proposed final policy, possibly for a December vote. No formal action was taken at this meeting.
