The Crown Point City Council on Nov. 3 addressed a range of routine land-use and administrative items alongside major capital and utilities measures.

Annexation. The council adopted ordinance 2025-10-28 on second reading annexing property described as 1981 East 130 Seventh Avenue and approximately 13900 Iowa Street. The motion passed on roll call with unanimous yes votes.

Special use (Club Pilates). Council approved resolution 2025-11-25R granting a special-use permit to allow a Club Pilates fitness studio at 10835 Broadway (Beacon Hill Shopping Center). Petitioner James Lemons (on Zoom) described plans to operate reformer Pilates classes with early morning hours and no late-night operations. Staff reported the Board of Zoning Appeals gave a 4-0 favorable recommendation and the city received several letters of support.

Substitutes list and software payment. Council suspended rules and adopted ordinance 2025-11-30 to add T2 parking enforcement/data collection services to the substitutes list so a pending 2025 invoice can be paid. During discussion an amount of $6,406,358 was stated on the record.

Meeting time change. Council adopted ordinance 2025-11-33 to change the regular council meeting start time from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. beginning in January.

Other business. The council approved claims and SRF distribution, confirmed the Dec. 18 special meeting at 6:00 p.m. as the second December meeting, and read the appropriation ordinance for bond proceeds on first reading; a public hearing and final action on appropriation will occur in December.
