The Grand Island Town Board approved a number of routine agenda items on Nov. 3.
The board approved minutes from several recent workshop and regular meetings and accepted committee minutes and state inspection reports as presented. The board authorized an amendment to extend a recreation-grant contract by one year; the town clerk said the extension is for administrative purposes and that the original term runs through Nov. 17.
Upon the recommendation of the officer in charge, Thomas Franz, the board announced the appointments of Edwin Alvarez, Daryl Orkenhagen and Dave Seippley as police officers for the Grand Island Police Department, contingent on successful completion of background checks and paperwork; the start date cited was Oct. 29, 2025. The announcement was informational and no fiscal impact to the current budget was reported.
The Department of Engineering and Water Resources presented delinquent water and sewer amounts to be placed on the 2026 tax roll: water $235,062; sewer $297,723.25; sewer auto district $844.97; meters $33,940.55; miscellaneous charges $156.96; total $567,727.73 (as presented). The board adopted the resolution to apply those amounts to the 2026 tax roll.
The board also approved standard voucher payments across funds as presented.
