During the public comment period, Charlie Phillips (Councilman, City of McKinney) thanked the commissioners for their service and asked for their future support of two items: the Boy Scouts of Collin County annual fundraiser (February 2026) and a candidate for the Collin County Central Appraisal District Board, Steve Wilson.

"I'm gonna ask that each of you go out to your largest stakeholders and ask that they support this effort for the young men and women of Collin County," Phillips said about Scouting. He then introduced Steve Wilson, describing him as "president of the board for the McKinney Municipal Utility District No. 1" and a community volunteer.

Steve Wilson attended the meeting and was recognized by the court during public comments.

Separately, later in the meeting the court discussed and voted on how to allocate the county's votes for the Central Appraisal District board election. The court decided to split Collin County's 186 votes evenly, assigning 93 votes each to Brian Dale and Jerry Tartolino; that motion passed 5 to 0. The court did not cast votes for Steve Wilson based on the recorded motion and vote.

No formal action was taken in response to Phillips's request to support the Boy Scouts; Phillips indicated he will return to the court seeking additional support in the future.
