Cache County Cash Open Space Advisory Committee members reviewed outreach plans Nov. 3 aimed at landowners in five gateway corridors. Staff showed a draft map highlighting those corridors and the county’s rationale for targeted mailers and a possible open-house workshop. Committee members discussed a short, four-slide presentation to the county council to explain the identification method for targeted properties, the expected costs and the request for council concurrence.

Committee members said the outreach should explain why recipients received a mailer and include a simple map and three to five bullet points. Staff suggested that council approval or a simple verbal go-ahead would be adequate for a small outreach appropriation; one member said they could identify a line item in the budget to cover the mailer. Committee members also mentioned prior radio outreach and short follow-up articles as additional channels.

Staff said the targeted list comprises about 140 landowners and approximately 950 parcels, and that some large institutional landowners (e.g., Utah State University and certain church holdings) will be added or excluded as appropriate in a final list. The committee requested staff finalize the map and mailer language and include the materials in the packet for the council presentation.
