Library staff reported Oct. 29 that a roof replacement project is advancing to the bidding stage while other maintenance items remain active.
Facilities staff and town personnel coordinated site visits for roof bidders; staff said a scope and funding review was underway and that a final bid selection would follow. Trustees were told the fire station move and larger town capital timeline likely pushes any full rehousing or renovation work into 2027, so near‑term repairs and the roof contract are the immediate priorities.
Trustees also discussed recurring maintenance items: a still‑outstanding outside leak and staff restroom ceiling repairs awaiting a plumber, pumps that Earth and Water had not yet removed, and a broken door arm that was reported through proper facilities channels. In one case, newly delivered mobile shelving arrived crated and assembled but one shelf showed damage during assembly; staff have contacted Demco to request a replacement shelf.
The board reviewed an existing space‑use agreement with Lake Cam and identified that maintenance notification and repair responsibilities were not clearly documented. Trustees requested staff draft suggested language clarifying who notifies facilities, how repair requests are routed and who pays for or arranges repairs; staff will circulate proposed language to the board and to the select board as appropriate.
