Harrison County officials voted to repost a county job at a salary of $60,000 during a meeting where members also discussed setting an employee's effective date.

A member asked for a motion to set the employee's effective date as Nov. 3 or as of the meeting date, then proceeded through a motion and vote. Later in the meeting, Member 1 stated, "So he's making a motion to repost the job at $60,000. Okay. You have a second? Mhmm. Discussion?" Member 1 called the vote and announced, "All in favor? Motion carries." The transcript does not list named movers, seconders or a numerical tally.

Members discussed whether raising the posted salary would require reposting the vacancy and whether another week of posting would affect the interview schedule. One participant said the higher salary was intended to attract more applicants and noted that the existing posting showed a lower amount; "All we're gonna do is go in," Member 1 said, arguing that increasing the salary could change the applicant pool.

The board noted interviews would not be scheduled for the nearest Monday and discussed timing for the next meeting. There was no recorded amendment to the motion and no additional conditions were recorded.
