On Nov. 3, 2025, Missouri City District C Council Member Joanna Oderkirk read a proclamation declaring November 2025 as National Municipal Court Week in Missouri City on behalf of Mayor Robin Ellicott and the city council.
The proclamation said the municipal court and its personnel are "dedicated to the fair and impartial administration of justice," and noted the court handles class C misdemeanor offenses, traffic matters, city ordinance violations and other cases that affect residents' quality of life. The proclamation cited the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure and other state laws as governing municipal court procedures.
A municipal court judge thanked the council for the recognition, saying court staff are "the backbone of our court" and praising staff for treating citizens with fairness and professionalism. The judge said the recognition is appreciated by the judges and court personnel.
No public comments were received during the meeting; the council moved on to staff reports and the consent agenda after the proclamation.
