Oklahoma County commissioners approved a range of procurement actions and contracts during their meeting, including awards for maintenance and correctional facility supplies and a contract for asbestos abatement in courthouse elevator shafts.
Staff opened bids for CW26031-1 (maintenance supplies), receiving a single bid from Madison Turf Farms, and for CW26024 (online auction services), which had bids from Purple Wave, Royal Auction and GovDeals. The board moved to tabulate and return the bids for formal award consideration.
On CW26027, a correctional facility equipment-and-supplies solicitation for the juvenile justice center, staff reported 17 bids and recommended awards by lowest per line item with exceptions for items where medical or security specifications governed selection. Several hygiene and medical-line items were recommended for Bob Barker; mattresses and related items requiring minimum orders were recommended to Charmtex; some mop heads and handles were not awarded due to security concerns and will be procured via alternative contract vehicles. The board voted to accept staff’s recommendation.
Staff recommended awarding professional services for the Southeast 15th to Southeast 209th Street project to MKEC following interviews of four shortlisted firms (Guy Engineering, CEC, MKEC and Lochner Engineering); the board approved the recommendation.
The board approved a contract with White and Associates for asbestos abatement in both elevator shafts of the courthouse for $312,314 to allow continuation of the elevator renovation work.
Smaller procurement and payment items on the consent docket included acknowledgement of right-of-way work by Pinnacle (payment: $2,500; funds held at ODOT) and the selection of Conzer to continue bridge-inspection services for the next cycle.
The board approved the bids, awards and contracts by motion and voice vote; individual motioners and seconders were not consistently identified on the record.
