Dr. Michael Connelly, superintendent of Wheeling CCSD 21, said October was National Bullying Prevention Month and that schools across the district led activities promoting kindness, inclusion and respect.

Connelly said students and staff participated in classroom discussions and schoolwide events such as Unity Day. He described visible efforts including students creating posters and wearing orange to show support for bullying-prevention efforts and noted students led initiatives to encourage positive behavior in their communities.

The newsletter framed these efforts as part of the district's ongoing work to foster safe, welcoming school environments, and thanked teachers and staff for guiding and supporting student-led activities.
