The Tourist Development Council voted unanimously to recommend a $15,000 sponsorship to support the City of Holmes Beach's 75th-anniversary events, planned for the first week of December. Staff said the events will include bands, food vendors and activities intended to draw residents and visitors from surrounding markets; Colby Gason and marketing staff will provide in-kind social-media promotion.

Separately, staff announced a Manatee Civic Center (convention center) ribbon-cutting scheduled for Nov. 13 at 9 a.m., and a Mixon Park key-passing ceremony on Nov. 7 at 10:30 a.m.; Mixon Park will host a farmer's market and a movie night on Nov. 14 and staff are pursuing partnerships with the school district for FFA and 4-H programming.

The sponsorship motion was moved and seconded on the record and passed with no recorded opposition.
