Library staff reported that a virtual court kiosk intended to provide public access to legal information has been delivered and installed at a library location, but it is not yet operational pending a missing power component.

Angie (library staff) said installation photos were taken on the day of delivery and that only “one 4-hour strip” or power component was missing; staff estimated that obtaining the missing part could take a couple of weeks. Committee members asked whether the vendor or court staff could mail the needed power supply cord to speed activation; staff said that could help and that judges and council members who provided funding will be invited to a ribbon-cutting once the kiosk is fully functional.

Angie said the kiosk will operate initially as a pilot: the service is being provided free for one year, and the library will track usage statistics to support continued funding. Committee members discussed scheduling the celebration to maximize attendance, requested assistance from the city public information office for publicity and identified dates to avoid (second Tuesdays of the month and the week of Thanksgiving). Staff said final scheduling will depend on the judge who spearheaded the project and on council availability.

No formal vote was recorded; the report was informational and staff said they would follow up on the missing power component and scheduling.
