Camille Thornforth told commissioners on Oct. 30 that she planned a Thanksgiving morning "Wobble the Gobble" fun run to bring the community together and collect canned food for the Idaho Food Bank. The event was proposed as a free community run; participants will be asked to bring canned goods in lieu of a registration fee.

Thornforth requested a waiver of the Pavilion No. 2 rental fee. Scott Carother, the events director, said the events staff would open the gates — possibly earlier than usual — but that he did not want staff required to work beyond normal openings.

A commissioner moved to waive the Pavilion No. 2 rental fee for the event; the motion passed by voice vote. Organizers were asked to coordinate gate-opening times with events staff. Thornforth asked for help promoting the run and for volunteers to collect and donate food on race day.

Why it matters: The event is intended to increase community participation in a holiday food drive and to route donated canned goods to the Idaho Food Bank and local distribution partners.
