The El Campo Independent School District Board of Trustees announced Oct. 29 that the Texas Education Agency (TEA) returned an audit with a finding that one campus had a door propped open. Board members said state law requires the public announcement of the finding.

Board members said they would not discuss details of the campus or planned personnel actions in open session and that the matter would be handled in closed session under Texas Government Code section 551.074 (personnel matters). No formal action was taken on the finding in open session.

The board scheduled further discussion in closed session and did not provide additional public details at the meeting.
