In the APCO report the district's chief highlighted year-end items and legislative outcomes. The APCO told the board that SB 88, a biomass utilization bill the district had cosponsored, was vetoed by the governor. Staff said the district will continue pursuing opportunities related to biomass utilization and agricultural-biomass projects with partners.

The APCO also noted that, as part of consent calendar approvals earlier in the meeting, the board had approved more than $12 million in investments for cleaner projects. The APCO warned that state and federal budget pressures will make next year challenging but pointed to grant and investment opportunities the district will pursue and will report back to the board in January.
