The Clinton City School Board approved the district's August financial report, a $132,500 net budget amendment for the general purpose school fund and the district's TISA accountability report during a regularly scheduled meeting.

Board members voted by roll call to adopt the August financial report and budget amendment number 1 after the finance director said the education capital projects budget was overrun largely because of auditorium bleacher seating costs. The board also approved the TISA accountability report, which the administration said must be submitted to the state by Nov. 1.

Mr. Ray, the district's finance director, told the board the net effect of the amendment is a $132,500 increase in appropriations for the general purpose school fund and that the district would cover roughly $83,000 of that increase from fund balance. He said recurring expenditures are concentrated in August as personnel costs begin and noted the school nutrition program showed a $12,000 surplus for August.

Board members approved the motions by roll call; each recorded vote read "yes." The clerk called the following roll during votes recorded in the transcript: Curtis Isabel (yes); Lori Wilson (yes); Dr. Tim Bobo (yes); Merle Price (yes); Joey Smith (yes); Debbie Heaton (yes). The chair declared each motion carried.

The TISA accountability report presented to the board ties district strategies to three goals: third-grade proficiency, grades 3-6 English language arts and grades 3-6 math. Administration said the document documents how state funds are used to support those goals and is part of an annual submission requirement.

The board passed the consent agenda and other routine motions earlier in the meeting by voice vote.
