Multiple students and community members used the public‑comment portion of the Oct. meeting to report health and sanitation concerns in the high school and request faster remediation.

Student and community statements described recurring sewage odor near restrooms, clogged toilets, and roach sightings. “There were literal human feces…dripping into mouth guards,” a public speaker said during comments, describing an incident in a girls’ locker room; another student said she leaves school feeling nauseous from humidity and suspected mold in some rooms.

Board President Steven Lindemuth addressed earlier media reports and guided the public to the district’s Operations web pages, saying the district posted results of air‑quality testing done in mid‑August and that “there has been no indication of mold. All the all the tests came back good.” He also told attendees there is a sewer‑maintenance page with updates and that the district is performing cleaning and repairs as needed while it pursues longer‑term renovation planning.

Administrators acknowledged the complaints and said work is underway but that larger projects require time and planning. During public comment several students urged more rapid repair and clearer, visible action; others asked the board and administration to visit programs and performances to see conditions firsthand.

The board did not take a formal vote on a facilities remediation plan at the meeting but accepted feasibility study materials earlier in the evening and approved capital‑project bids that the administration said could be used for future repairs.
