Mayor Alex Renaghi described progress on Laguna Beach's facilities master plan and a pending multi'city water agreement.

Renaghi said the city is preparing to demolish a dental building to create a new fire station, noting public safety and infrastructure are key local government roles. He characterized the project as moving forward as part of facility improvements.

Renaghi also outlined a pending water agreement among Fountain Valley, Newport Beach and Laguna Beach. He said, pending Fountain Valley's approval, a well in Fountain Valley would deliver two'thirds of the participating cities' water, create local reliability, and lower ratepayer costs by about $1 million per year. He said Newport and Laguna would hold a signing ceremony if Fountain Valley approves the agreement.

Renaghi said he planned to discuss the deal publicly with other officials and present details to residents. He did not provide contract text, firm start dates for construction of the well, or timing for when the rate savings would begin.
