At its Sept. 29 meeting the San Patricio County Commissioners Court approved a range of routine and substantive items. The following is a summary of motions recorded on the public docket.
- Proclamation: The court designated Oct. 5–11, 2025 as National 4‑H Week in San Patricio County by proclamation. Motion approved unanimously.
- Consent agenda: The court accepted and recorded the county clerk’s monthly report for August 2025, the county auditor’s unaudited financial report for August 2025, an assignment of an airport hangar lease, a QuickBooks multiyear agreement for grant data retention ($6,739 with ARPA funds), and notification that a 90-day burn ban had been lifted effective Sept. 16, 2025. Motion approved unanimously.
- Claims and budget items: The court approved payment of claims against the county and three budget line-item transfers (auditor’s office, sheriff’s department and right-of-way/engineer transfers). Motions approved unanimously.
- Procurement and equipment: The court authorized the auditor’s office to go out for bids for a used oil distributor for Road & Bridge Precinct 2 (noting equipment replacement scheduling), approved an RFP for external auditing services, and approved purchasing proximity badges for courthouse time clocks at a total cost of $1,182.98 (to be paid from courthouse security). Motions approved.
- Personnel and appointments: The court accepted the introduction of Norma Munoz as a finalist to replace the county extension agent and approved Victoria Pareda as interim elections administrator effective Oct. 1, 2025 (personnel items approved). Several personnel status changes, hires and terminations were approved as part of the personnel docket.
- Contracts and warranties: The court accepted substantial completion and authorized release of retainage and one-year warranties for EOC and juvenile generators (retainage amounts: $12,230.10 and $9,499.50 respectively) and approved other routine construction and grant items detailed on the agenda.
