Helotes—Following a closed session, the Helotes City Council appointed Council Member Rick Sanders as mayor pro tem.

Council Member David Cato moved to appoint Rick Sanders; Council Member Buck Russell seconded the motion. The mayor called for the vote and announced the motion "carries." Later in the public record the meeting secretary summarized the tally as two yes votes, zero no votes, two abstentions and one recusal.

The council made the appointment after returning from a closed session listed on the agenda under Texas Government Code Section 551.074 (personnel matters). The mayor announced the council was returning to open session and then called the motion for item 9.
