Grove City Council approved Resolution CR43‑25 authorizing the city administrator to enter into a cooperative contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation for stormwater improvements along U.S. 62 in the area of Demarest Drive.

City officials said ODOT will replace an approximately 18‑inch century‑old sewer with a new 24‑inch pipe and will use some city facilities, including the basin that receives the drainage, as well as work within city right‑of‑way. City staff told council there will be no expense to the city for the work.

The resolution had a public hearing and was adopted by roll call. Council members recorded on the roll call as voting “yes” included Hauck, Gary, Hughes, Anderson and Wilson. Council Member Dew moved approval; a second was recorded but the speaker was not named in the transcript.

City staff said ODOT will manage the installation of the larger pipe and coordinate the work in the city right‑of‑way; the city’s role will be limited to cooperation, use of basins and permitting coordination.
