The Delaware County Redevelopment Commission on Oct. 9 voted to put back on the table agenda item 4c regarding a proposed weather/tornado siren for the Oakville area, pending identification of an installation site and the outcome of an external grant request.

Chair K. explained the request involved Indiana Michigan Power and a "40,000 grama request" submitted to fund the tornado siren. County staff clarified that the siren would serve Oakville and that they were coordinating with Keystone Cooperative and Monroe Township trustee Leonard Reese to identify a suitable property for installation.

Commissioners voted to return the item to the table and consider it further after staff reports back on location options and the status of the grant application. Commissioners also discussed the possibility of saving money through county- or contractor-provided traffic control, and staff said any unspent funds would be returned to the commission.

No final county expenditure was authorized at the Oct. 9 meeting; the item will remain pending until staff verifies a site and the grant outcome.
