Mayor Rodney S. Craig on Oct. 2 presented proclamations recognizing October 2025 as Manufacturing Month in the Village of Hanover Park and designating October as Arts DuPage Month.
In the manufacturing proclamation the mayor noted that "manufacturers in Hanover Park and throughout Illinois contribute significantly to job creation, workforce development, and economic growth" and stated, as written into the proclamation, that the village is home to more than 50 manufacturers producing goods ranging from food products and robotics to radio-frequency electronics, with combined revenue of more than $22,000,000,000 and more than 3,200 jobs. The proclamation called on the community to support local manufacturers and career pipeline development.
The board also recognized Arts DuPage Month with a proclamation highlighting the arts' role in education, civic life and the county economy; the mayor read statistics cited in the proclamation that the arts sector supports more than 2,272 arts-related businesses and more than 15,000 full-time jobs in DuPage County and represents about 4.2% of the region’s businesses.
Both proclamations were presented to representatives in the chambers; the board and guests exchanged brief remarks and the items were accepted as ceremonial recognitions, with no board action required.
