A pavilion lighting design favored by the committee’s subcommittee — described as a bronze/bronze-colored modular fixture about 36–40 inches in circumference — was presented for consideration. Members cited ease of maintenance, modular replacement and a stronger downward illumination compared with other fixtures as reasons for the selection.
The committee said Coast Lighting will provide a cost breakdown and availability; members noted the fixture’s modular components are manufactured in Texas and are rated for about 50,000 hours. Committee members asked the vendor to demonstrate the fixture’s illumination in the pavilion showroom and requested that a single-vendor risk be assessed because modulars may require proprietary replacement parts.
Staff said the lighting purchase and any installation will be coordinated with interior recessed-lighting updates and that final pricing and installation scheduling will be brought back at a future meeting.
