The DeSoto City Council authorized the mayor to sign the city’s official Texas Municipal League (TML) Region 13 ballot and cast the city’s vote for Mayor Pro Tem Crystal Chisholm to serve as Region 13 director on the TML board of directors.

Staff explained the ballot and submission deadlines. Council members discussed their preferences and a majority indicated support for Mayor Pro Tem Crystal Chisholm. Mayor Pro Tem Chisholm received sufficient votes from councilors present and staff confirmed the city would submit the signed ballot before the TML deadline.

The record shows staff presented an updated ballot to the council and the council reached consensus to support Chisholm; the Oct. 7 transcript does not record individual council vote names on the TML ballot beyond the recorded majority support during the discussion.
