The council considered and acted on its Region 13 director ballot from the Texas Municipal League (TML).

City Secretary Brandy Brown explained the process and read the candidate names on the ballot: Crystal Chisholm (Mayor Pro Tem, DeSoto), Stanley Jaglowski (Lancaster), John Lopez (Grand Prairie) and Wes Mays (Coppell). Councilmembers cast individual preferences during discussion; when formal action was requested, Councilmember [name recorded as making the motion] moved to cast the city’s TML Region 13 vote for Crystal Chisholm. The motion was seconded and the roll call vote was recorded as Aye: Mosley, Garrett, Lightfoot, Binford and Mayor Brown; Nay: Hale. The motion passed, 5–1.
