The New Castle County Land Use Committee on Oct. 7 moved a ministerial plan for Hokesson Station, a major subdivision in Mill Creek Hundred, toward recordation and scheduled a formal vote for the following Tuesday.
The committee chair described the filing as "a ministerial vote to take this plan to recordation," noting the plan subdivides the subject parcels into 143 lots and uses the Open Space Plan Development option. The plan affects tax parcels 0801200033 and 0801200073 and is tied to zoning application number 20210695SZ; the record plan is located on the east side of Valley Road about 850 feet south of Evanston Road.
Mark Blake, president of the Greater Hokesson Area Development Association, told the committee the developer "has been extremely, forthcoming in working with the community and the surrounding nearest neighbors and neighborhoods, and we have been keeping everybody up to date." Blake said the civic group supports the plan and urged the committee to approve sending it to recordation so "the project can continue to break ground and move forward." The committee closed public comment after Blake spoke.
Committee members characterized the plan as long‑running and said community working groups had been active during the plan's phased review. No substantive objections were raised during the meeting. The committee did not take a final vote on recordation during the Oct. 7 meeting; the chair said the matter "should come to vote next Tuesday."
