The New Castle County Land Use Committee voted Oct. 7 to transfer meetings scheduled for Veterans Day, Nov. 11, to Nov. 18.

Councilman Chris Smiley moved the change after noting Veterans Day falls on the committee's typical meeting night and county offices will be closed. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote; members said the date change will allow agendas and calendars to be adjusted.

Committee members acknowledged the scheduling conflict and agreed the change would prevent meetings from falling on the county and state holiday. No public comment was recorded on the scheduling motion.
