The Baldwin Park City Council used the Oct. 1 meeting to introduce several new city employees, present a plaque to a century-old local business and proclaim National Hispanic Heritage Month.
City manager Manny introduced Samantha X. Pina as an administrative clerk in the city clerk's office, noting her Aug. 4 start date. Staff member Okina introduced Yadera Guevara Carmona as an assistant planner; Maria introduced Alberto Ria as a community service supervisor; and Rose introduced Jenny Yu from the finance department, who was acknowledged for her promotion and work supporting grants and reporting.
The council presented a plaque to Paul Lawrence in recognition of Lawrence Doors' 100th anniversary. Paul Lawrence thanked the council: "I just wanted to thank the city council for this honor. We really appreciate being here in the city of Baldwin Park. It's home to us now." A representative from State Senator Susan Rubio's office also presented a framed certificate.
Council member Emmanuel Estrada read a proclamation recognizing National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15	6/Oct. 15, 2025) and presented it to representatives of the NALEO Education Fund. Bridal Bernal Martinez, identified in the meeting as a NALEO representative, thanked the council for the recognition.
Councilors framed the introductions and recognitions as routine municipal acknowledgments and community engagement.
