At its Oct. 2 meeting, the San Antonio City Council approved the consent agenda covering items 4 through 30 by voice vote, with items 22 and 28 pulled for individual consideration.
Item 22 (nomination to the Bexar Appraisal District Board of Directors for the term Jan. 1, 2026–Dec. 31, 2029) was pulled. An initial motion to continue the item to Oct. 9 with a different nominee failed on roll call. Councilmember Terry Castillo then moved an amendment replacing the nomination with Councilmember Ivelisse Mesa Gonzales; the amendment and the main motion as amended carried and the council approved Mesa Gonzales as the city’s nominee. Staff noted the nomination deadline is Oct. 15.
Item 28 (Goliad Road Revitalization Plan) was discussed and amended to remove a designated preferred street design on page 7 and to rename the plan’s alternatives; the council adopted the plan as amended. Public commenters and San Antonio ISD representatives urged retaining four travel lanes in the school zone near Kate Schenck Elementary School.
Other consent items in the approved packet included multiple board and commission appointments, the Airport regional center plan (item 30) and routine administrative items. The transcript records the consent agenda approval by voice vote and records the detailed discussion, amendments and final outcomes for items 22 and 28; where a detailed roll‑call tally is not included in the transcript excerpt, the minutes or the city clerk’s official record should be checked for the formal roll‑call record.
